Bay Mulch, Inc. – Pioneers In Land Clearing and Recycling Yard and Food Waste
Bay Mulch Inc., was incorporated as a Florida Corporation in September of 1996. Tom Kirkland and his wife are the only stockholders of the corporation. We originally began as a land clearing and grinding company. In 2000, we purchased 17 acres of land in Pasco County to open a Yard Waste Recycling Facility/ Mulch production facility.

Recycling Yard and Food Waste To Make A Better World
After almost 2 years of zoning, permitting, and construction setbacks, we became the first permitted Yard Waste Facility in Pasco County. For the past 12 years we have recycled 99.5% of all of the waste that has come to our site, with trash mixed into the incoming yard waste accounting for the 0.5% of non-recycled debris. The yard waste that comes into the facility is ground, windrowed, composted and sold.
Land clearing debris is separated into yard waste, mulch wood and topsoil, all of which is processed and sold. We have also recycled all of the clean mulch that was generated from our land clearing operations into colored mulch which is then sold to rock yards and landscapers.
Expanding Our Business, Expanding Our Reach
In 2005 we purchased a 42-acre site located in Plant City, to open a second yard waste facility. By the time all the zoning, conditional use permits and engineering was complete the economy had stalled, so we sat on the property until 2012. Our Plant City Yard Waste and Compost facility opened in March of 2013. We are currently accepting yard waste and pre-consumed vegetative waste.
The vegetative waste is then macerated and mixed with ground yard waste and windrowed, using Harvest Quest’s organic catalyst and their “Modified Static Aerobic Pile composting Method” to produce a nutrients enriched USDA organic certified compost – Bio-Natural Soil our new compost.
